Tampa Bay Rays Brett Phillips hits a home run from Inside the Park.

Phillips started as the 7th right fielder in the home game against the Baltimore Orioles at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on the 17th.

He took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, leading 5-1, and pushed the second pitch slider of opposing bullpen pitcher Paul Fry. The batted ball hit the bottom of the fence directly and rolled out big.

Phillips sprinted as soon as he fired the ball, stepped on the groove in about 14 seconds and roared into the crowd.

Baltimore had a neat relay play. Left fielder DJ Stewart, who caught the ball, threw the ball to second baseman Jorge Mateo, who played a good defense as Mateo threw it back home, but failed to catch Phillips.

Tampa Bay hit another Inside the Park home run in three days.The record was set by Kevin Kiermaier in an away game against the Minnesota Twins on the 14th.

Phillips then appeared at the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning and scored a hit in front of right field against Fernando Abad.He played with two hits (one homer) in four at-bats that day.

In the game,Tampa Bay beat Baltimore 9-2 with a big hit with Phillips Inside the Park home run.Tampa Bay remained at the top of the American League East Division with a 72-47 record.
