Baseball player Ronald Acuña Jr. was recognized by Baseball Digest magazine as the National League Rookie of the Year after the Venezuelan's outstanding performance in the 2018 major league season.
Acuña, who has just made his debut in U.S. baseball, led the Atlanta Braves to the title of the "Old Circuit" East Division after connecting 127 hits, including 26 home runs, 64 towed runs and scoring 78 stripes to leave his average at 293 points. In addition to this, the varguense dispatched 26 doubles, four triples, stole 16 bases and maintained an OBP of 366 and a slugging of 552.
The young toletero was also recognized in August of this year as the "Rookie of the Month" by the Major League Baseball (MLB), as well as his compatriot Jesus Aguilar with the Luis Aparicio award.
