Jacob Tyler Realmuto, who was considered the biggest catcher in the major league FA market, has renewed a contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. He signed a five-year contract with Philadelphia for $115.5 million making him the first catcher to sign over a $100 Million deal in F.A. signing an annual average of $23.1 million. This is the highest annual average of $23 million that Joe Mauer signed with the Minnesota Twins in 2010.

In addition, he surpassed Brian McCann $85 million free agency contract he had with the New York Yankees in 2013.

Realmuto, who debuted in the 2014 Miami Marlins Big League and moved to Philadelphia in the 2019 season and he is considered one of the best catchers on the job.

In 47 games last season, he batted 0.266 with 11 homers and 32 RBIs. He hit 0.278 with 749 hits and 358 RBIs with 95 homers in 732 major league games.

According to reports, he recorded 15 replacement win contributions (WAR) from the 2017 to 2019 seasons, ranking first among all major league catchers. Even in all positions, he performed well enough to rank 13th.
