On Wednesday, October 20th, 1982, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium in St. Louis to win the 79th World Series four games to three. It was the ninth World Series championship for the Cardinals franchise and the eighth that was won in Missouri. These are the top five players that I felt most stood out during the series.

5. #17 Jim Gantner (Brewers)- 2B

Gantner was player of the game in game one, as he hit two RBIs with two runs and two hits as the Brewers went on to win it 10-0 to start off the series.

4. #15 Darrell Porter (Cardinals)- C
