The man who supposedly beat the hell out of UFC legend Tito Ortiz in a random parking lot after a UFC event was also the most wanted man of 2009 (at least in the UK). Lee Murray was most known to me as the guy who got his butt whooped by future legend and the greatest mixed martial artist of all time in Anderson Silva... but Lee was still a tough customer with a lot of heart.

Aside from his short (one fight) tenure as a UFC fighter, Lee was mostly known for his wins in the Millenium Brawl organization.. a misplaced early 2000s business that actually had quite a few stars (in quite a few mismatches). Murray himself was quite a prolific finisher, and his durability allowed him to survive the acute threat that Anderson Silva posed every minute of their fight. Murray was one of the few men in that era of the Spider's reign whom not only survived, but seemed to expose Anderson in very slight ways.

Murray was a brazen individual, and even a career as a professional fighter could not contain his urges of wild fervor.

In February of 2006, seven gunmen masked in black decided to raid a high security bank warehouse just outside of London, and they made off  more than $100 million in both pounds and Euros.

All fingers led back to Lee Murray when authorities were trying to figure out who masterminded this plot, but by the time they pieced any of the story together, Lee was already partying in Morocco.

Murray didn't last long on his escape route as the UK brought him back to charge him, and sent him back to Morrocco to sit out his sentence of 10 years. Lee eventually had this sentence elongated to 25 years and is still serving out the next 16 years of it in the land he'd hoped to retire in. It's a sad story, and one worthy of a movie.. in fact the Jason Statham film 'The Bank Job' is loosely based off of Murray's escapades.

Did you guys ever hear about this story? It still remains as the biggest heist of all time!
