«The wait is over!» This is how the UFC officializes the fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. The match is scheduled for October 6 and will be held in Las Vegas.

It is the return of McGregor to the octagon after several controversies that took him away from the Ultimate Fighting Championship for almost two years. In the middle, he ventured into the boxing world for a more mediatic than historic fight with Floyd Mayweather.

The Irishman's last appearance in mixed martial arts was in 2016 when he defeated Eddie Alvarez as the lightweight champion decided, a title that now belongs to his next opponent.

Nurmagomedov remains undefeated (26-0) in MMA and, like McGregor, is considered one of the best ever in the category. A teaser that will be peppered by last April's events, when the Irishman attacked the bus where the Russian was leaving a gymnasium in New York. He ended up in jail, went on trial and paid a fine for public disorder.
