UFC Fight Night 152: dos Anjos vs. Lee

  • Rafael dos Anjos vs. Kevin Lee - Lee |Decision|

Cardio was the deciding factor in this match. Kevin Lee was almost exhausted by the 3rd round and after that failed takedown attempt in the 4th round he was done. He basically gave up that submission, he didn't even try to fight it. Nothing taken away from RDA, who really showed off his experience in an amazing performance and he was ready for that gameplan which was executed against him by Colby and Usman, which he knew to be executed by Lee. Even in striking exchanges Lee was rocked a couple of times, though he wasn't knocked down. I would love to see RDA vs. Ponzinibhio or even RDA vs. Till which would be stylistically different matches for RDA, as both Santiago and Till will look to strike. Lee MUST work on his cardio for sure. I thought moving up in weight would favour him in that department as he had to cut less weight and all. He should definitely learn how to control the pace of his attack and conserve energy especially in a 5 round fight, if he wants to keep climbing up the ladder for that title. Lee vs. Till would be a fight that can be hyped up well, considering both their personalities.

  • Ian Heinisch vs. Antonio Carlos Junior -Carlos Jr. |Submission| [Rd 1]

Ian Heinisch showed his heart and his all-round skills in both his last matches, against two world class BJJ practitioners. He is going to be a force in this middleweight division. His ability to adapt to situations is amazing. Now he is in the top #15 and he is asking for a Brunson fight. I think that's a good choice to step into Top #10. For Cara de Sapato, it's a tough loss after going with a winning streak. He would still be ranked in Top #15. He started strong with his grappling, but when Ian defended well against his submission attacks, it seemed he got frustrated and to add to that his concentration was off since then. Carlos Jr. vs. Brad Tavares would be a fun fight to watch.

  • Megan Anderson vs. Felicia Spencer -Anderson |KO/TKO| [Rd 2]
  • Vicente Luque vs. Derrick Krantz -Luque |KO/TKO| [Rd 2]
  • Nik Lentz vs. Charles Oliveira -Oliveira |Submission| [Rd 2]
  • Austin Hubbard vs. Davi Ramos -Ramos |Submission| [Rd 1]
  • Sijara Eubanks vs. Aspen Ladd -Ladd |KO/TKO| [Rd 2]
  • Desmond Green vs. Charles Jourdain -Green |Decision|
  • Michel Pereira vs. Danny Roberts -Roberts |Decision|

Wow .. this was as entertaining as I could be until it lasted. Pereira was wild, flashy and ferocious with his striking. And he just shocked Danny Roberts. It's interesting to see how his next match is going to be. He is exerting a lot of energy, even pre-fight, and during the fight. He kind of looks like a welterweight Johnny Walker with his frame and unorthodox attacks except Johnny walker is measured and calculated with his strikes. If an opponent can weather the early storm, it's questionable whether his conditioning will hold in deep waters. Anyhow an interesting, and a definite fan favorite addition to the division and he is still very young.

  • Grant Dawson vs. Mike Trizano -Dawson |Submission| [Rd 2]
  • Patrick Cummins vs. Ed Herman -Cummins |Decision|
  • Zak Cummings vs. Trevin Giles -Giles |Decision|
  • Julio Arce vs. Julian Erosa -Arce |KO/TKO| [Rd 2]
