The UFC has announced that Israel Adesanya is going to face Kevin Gastelum at UFC 236 for the interim middleweight championship on April 13. They do not have a venue for now but rumors are it is going to be in New York or Atlanta. I think it will be New York, this fight is very big. Robert Whitaker is expected to be back in the summer, just in time for the middleweight title to unified.
Adesanya is 5-0 in the UFC, very impressive striker who just won a chess match against Anderson Silva. Adesanya is wasting no time into his rise in the UFC, he could be the middleweight champion by the summer. This could be one of the fastest rise in UFC history, having joined the UFC a year ago.
