El Cucuy has had some unfortunate events. Let's hope this isn't serious!

Tony Ferguson is arguably the most deserving fighter in the UFC. In my opinion he is. From winning the interim belt, to being stripped for a freak injury, to coming back from surgery and looking amazing, having Conor jump the que and take his title shot, to now being thrown in the back burner as Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier fight for the interim belt. It looks like our dream fight of Tony vs Khabib is getting further and further away...

Tony was offered the Max Holloway fight for the interim title, and he turned it down. Rightly so in my opinion. Firstly, I love Max Holloway but the LW division is so stacked it doesn't need Max there fight now, we need a few more fights to clear the air and the cluster, and then bring Max into the picture. Why should Tony have fought for the interim title again? He has been the #1 contender for so long, and truly deserves that title.

I understand Khabib is out right now, and that throws another spanner into the works. Tony vs Max could have been made for the actual title? Either way, the UFC moved on too quickly - but they are a ruthless business at the end of the day!

Issues regarding Tony

Tony posted a rather worrying statement, mentioning how he had been threatened and his family could be in danger. Here is his tweet, and it isn't the most calming to read:

He plays off of the whole "Tony is the type of guy to..." joke that every bandwagoner keeps jumping on for a few likes - but to be fair most of these are fairly positive. But, Tony's post wasn't. Why do fans and haters have to be so ruthless? Can't we all just be a bit kinder and not hurl abuse at fighters, or anyone? Keyboard warriors man....

I have read, but can't confirm, that the threats have something to do with Ali Abdeelaziz.. Khabibs manager, and Usmans, and many others. Yep, the same manager that tried to punch Colby. The same manager that Conor exposed. I haven't heard anything good about this guy. But maybe some of his fighters feel different. Have you?

Dana White has also come out and stated that "Tony is going through some personal issues right now that he needs to sort out before he fights." Not the best thing to hear.

What are your thoughts?

Let me know what you think about all of this, I would like to know. I just want Tony to get back into the Octagon soon, and I want him to fight for a title. Tony vs Khabib has to happen... but it is beginning to look more and more unlikely as time goes on.

I hope Tony and his family are safe!

To finish, I do think Tony would beat Khabib, I have always thought this. What do you think?
