Conor McGregor 'retires' from MMA... again? Do we care anymore?
I've been away for a bit, and I know this is old news - but what do we all think about this McGregor stuff? Do we even care? Do we care about Conor anymore? Well, I want to see him fight again, and I did think after the loss to Khabib, he was going to fight a few more times and we may have seen a rejuvenated Conor McGregor. This recent news makes me not so sure... Conor recently stated that he would happily fight as a co-main event as long as the UFC paid him his dues ($hare$ in the company). The UFC has clearly declined Conors request, and here we have another retirement from the Notorious one. Or have they... Cowboy Cerrone has said he thinks this is a business move from McGregor so stay relevant. Khabib has tweeted in response "There can only be one king of the jungle". Nate Diaz has called out Khabib, and said Conor got his ass beat twice and Poirier is a pussy". Oh Nate... Many other fighters and pundits have their own opinion, but again Conor is the main talk of the MMA world. My take on this Conor is relevant, even if he loses his next fight, he will still be the biggest draw - in terms of sales. I do think he has retired now, in terms of a title contender, but, I do feel we will see him fight again. I think in a year or 2 we will see Conor vs Nate 3. Or, he will leapfrog everyone and rematch Khabib in some crazy last minute decision from the UFC. Potential Floyd Mayweather rematch? Could be... Bare Knuckle FC...? Long shot. I am a fan of Conor, but I don't really care anymore. I am more of an MMA fan and an so excited about the upcoming fights with or without Conor. What do you think? Sexual assault allegations Conor has been in some trouble of recent! Well, media trouble... real or not, these claims don't look good for him. He supposedly assaulted a woman in Dublin back in December. I hope this isn't true, regardless of who this is. However, I do find it hard to think that a millionaire fighter would need to sexually assault a woman when they are all throwing themselves at him - however, the truth will be out soon!
Could we see Khabib vs Mayweather?

Aside from banter from both fighters, that's the first real acknowledgment of the rumored fight we've heard from White. Because Nurmagomedov is under contract with the UFC, he'd need clearance to compete in such an event, but White insists the bout must be fought in the UFC's Octagon under mixed martial arts rules, not another boxing match like the one between Mayweather and Conor McGregor last year. “We went over there, we boxed him and if he wants to do it again, he’s gotta come fight in the UFC,” White said. “I don’t think it’s very realistic at all but I didn’t think the boxing match was either and it happened so we’ll see. “There will no be a boxing match. Obviously, if it was something that Khabib really wanted to do, we’d sit down and talk about it but I don’t like anything about it. I haven’t talked to Khabib about it at all. His interest needs to be defending his title over here. That’s what he should be focused on.” Mayweather scored a 10th-round TKO over McGregor in the bout and both men enjoyed a mammoth payday for their efforts. Clearly, the UFC gained monetarily as well as the co-promoter of the event. A similar arrangement would likely have to be made for a Mayweather-Nurmagomedov bout. “There’s a reason why Floyd Mayweather wants to fight my guys,” White said. “Because there’s big money there for him. Obviously, there’s big money there for us but I’m not into making those kinds of fights. If Floyd wants to come over here, he said he’s been wrestling and doing this and that, if he wants to come over and fight in the UFC, he’s more than welcome.” It's difficult to imagine Mayweather agreeing to an MMA bout with anyone. let alone a fighter with Nurmagomedov's style. The fight is going to go to the ground, and that is obviously where Mayweather has had little-to-no training. As a businessman who always looks to chase low-risk-high-reward opportunities, an MMA bout with Nurmagomedov doesn't seem like it matches the profile. Then again, this is combat sports and we've learned you can never rule anything out.
Floyd Mayweather Sr. says Mayweather-McGregor rematch is “being talked about”
Over the last few weeks, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor’s beef has heated back up, as the undefeated boxer and Irish MMA superstar have exchanged a bit of trash talk on Twitter. These recent skirmishes have Floyd Mayweather’s father believing that Mayweather and McGregor will fight again. In his eyes, Conor McGregor is probably eager for the opportunity to try to avenge his 2017 loss to Mayweather. ”It’s sounding like him and Conor McGregor are going to fight,” he told Helen Yee . “That’s what it sounds like. I don’t know for sure, but I’m just saying the way things are sounding to me. It sounds like [Floyd’s] going to fight again, and Conor McGregor, he wants to fight again. Even though he don’t want to fight again, but he’ll fight again just to show his people what he can do – which is nothing.” ”This time here, I’m gonna make sure that he gets stretched out,” Floyd Sr. said. “All the way out of the game. I want to make sure he don’t come back no more.” In the past, talks about a potential Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor rematch have suggested the fight could occur in the UFC’s Octagon. Mayweather Sr., however, feels the rematch would probably just be another boxing match. Whatever the case, he assures McGregor will never be able to avenge his loss. ”I’m just saying, I think they’re gonna fight the same way,” he said. “I think Conor McGregor wants that win back that he had, which is never coming back to him anyways. It’s being talked about and it sounds like a lot of interest is in it right now.” Do you think we’ll see Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight again before all is said and done?
