UFC235 Jones vs Smith - Breakdown and predictions - Who you got? STACKED main card! 2 Title fights!
We are just around the corner from one of the biggest and baddest UFC cards! This main card is STACKED! Jon Jones vs Anthony Smith We all know lots about Jon Jones, but do we know enough about Anthony Smith? With a 31-13-0 pro record, he sure has the experience advantage over Jones, but his resume isn't quite as impressive. All respect to Smith, he has had many a great win and looks awesome recently in the UFC, but, he has some holes in his games that I feel Jones will expose. It is really hard to find holes in Jon's game, he really is one of the most dominant, if not the most dominant fighter ever. His one loss was a disqualification, and man is he good. Smith knows what defeat tastes like, and I believe Jones will make easy work of him. I would say Smith has a punchers chance but this is Jon Jones we are talking about, someone would have caught him by now.. or would they? Of course Smith has a chance of taking him out, this is MMA after all - anything can and does happen! I just can't see Jon loosing anytime soon! Or are we about to witness the biggest upset in UFC history? I believe Jon Jones will want to make a statement, get a finish and do it quickly. Jon Jones win via TKO in round 1! And Still. Tyron Woodley vs Kamaru Usman Welterweight war! Usman is a proven wrestler and an explosive striker, who is a formidable force. However, I feel The Chosen One will be too much for him. Too much power, too much speed, too much strength. I think that Woodley is going to destroy Usman, and do what he wants to him. I think Tyron out strikes him and out wrestles him. Taking nothing away from Usman, and maybe he will take Woodley down and start winning, I just can't see it happening. Tyron Woodley via KO in round 1! And Still. Robbie Lawler vs Ben Askren This could be the most anticipated fight of the year so far. For a straight up wrestler, undefeated Ben Askren sure does have some support and excitement behind him! But, has he fought at this level? Well, yes he has some very impressive wins, but he is going against of the most vicious Welterweights of all time, Ruthless Robbie Lawler. Robbie does great against wrestlers, and I don't know if Ben has what it takes. However - he is a phenomenal wrestler, so if he grabs Robbie, its game over. I am a huge Robbie fan so I have to side with my dude! I feel Robbie manages to escape the wrestling for the first round and rock Askren! Old school Ruthless style savagely putting a beat down on him - proving why the former champ is still a formidable force! Robbie Lawler by KO in round 1! (Yep, I said round 1 again) Tecia Torres vs Weili Zhang Tecia Torres is an explosive beast no doubt, but do NOT look past Weili Zhang. She is an amazing Chinese fighter, and look at her win streak! She lost her first fight and is on a 18 fight win streak! Impressive stuff! Torres is coming off 2 losses, and always looks good, and has only been beaten by the best. I believe that Weili Magnum Zhang is one of the best and will be the champ, or have a title shot very soon. She has a 50% finish rate, and is very well rounded. Tecia is super tough, and powerful, but I think Weili get the W. Weili Zhang to win via unanimous decision Cody Garbrandt vs Pedro Munhoz This is one hell of an opening fight for our main card! Former Champ Cody returns after back to back losses to TJ Dillshaw. Cody must be feeling the pressure, and will really want to perform. We normally see a very aggressive, forward pressuring Cody, and I wonder if he will be more relaxed. Do you think Cody is one dimensional? I think Cody will want to watch out for the takedowns and won't want to go to the floor with Munhoz, that's for sure. But, let's see if he can stuff takedowns and we can a kickboxing fight! I would like to see Cody get the win, and I think he will finish Munhoz! Unless he rushes in... anyway: Cody to win via KO in round 2! (or round 1 haha) Also, DON'T forget about STEPHENS VS ZABIT! What are your thoughts? Maybe I am a bit excited for this card and it shows in my predictions! Either way, we have one hell of a fight card here ladies and gents - sit back, relax and enjoy the wars!
