Yamaha satellite team has appointed two riders for next season. Valentino Rossi, Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo's students were his choice.
Yamaha satellite team will be filled with SIC Racing Team in 2019 MotoGP. The Malaysian team replaces the Tech 3 which moves the manufacturer to KTM next season.
SIC, which is managed by the Sepang Circuit Dato Razlan Razali, apparently chose Morbidelli and Quartararo as the riders in MotoGP 2019. Both of them replaced Hafizh Syahrin and Johann Zarco who participated in the Tech 3 to KTM.
Morbidelli is one of the Rossi Academy graduates, VR46 Academy. This season, the 23-year-old rider became a MotoGP rookie after being transported by Marc VDS team.
As for Quartararo, he will make his debut as a MotoGP rider next year. Currently, the young French rider is still racing in Moto2 with the Speed Up team.
"They chose Morbidelli, who is an attractive rider for us, because he is a world champion (Moto2 2017). He is Rossi's academy rider, he certainly has talent. I think he will be better with M1 than at Honda this year. So there is no doubt for him. , "said Jarvis quoted by Autosport.
"As for Quartararo, he will be a rookie. He is young, 19 years old, but he is truly talented. He has struggled in the last two seasons, but he is back promising this year and I think he can be one of the very drivers. , very good in the future, "Jarvis added.
