Andrea Dovizioso managed to become the Czech Republic MotoGP champion at the Automotodrom Brno on Sunday (5/8). This victory is Dovizioso's second victory this season.
Duel Dovizioso, Rossi and Marquez have occurred since the beginning of the race. Rossi had twice taken over the leading position from Dovizioso. But, the Ducati rider was able to finish the first lap with advantages over Rossi and Marquez.
The bad luck was experienced by Rossi's teammate, Maverick Vinales, who immediately had an accident at the first few laps of the first lap. Vinales was involved in an accident with Stefan Bradl and Bradley Smith.
Marquez dropped to fourth on the second lap when overtaken by Jorge Lorenzo. Marquez's attempt to overtake Rossi at the third corner failed to produce results and his position was overtaken by Lorenzo.
Seven laps passed Czech MotoGP races took place tough. Until the seventh lap Dovizioso was only 1.6 seconds ahead of Andrea Iannone in eighth place.
When 14 laps near the finish, Rossi managed to maneuver to follow Dovizioso. Rossi then tried to create a distance from Dovizioso after getting the leading position.
Marquez himself had to fight hard to escape the threat of Jorge Lorenzo. Marquez's fight against Lorenzo for the third place race continues.
Rossi then lost control in front on 11 laps before the finish. Rossi was followed by Dovizioso later by Marquez. Rossi dropped to third.
Rossi's position using medium tires continued to sag up to fifth because he was also overtaken by Cal Crutchlow and Lorenzo. Crutchlow himself then enlivened the competition in the front row against Dovizioso and Marquez.
The race in the last five laps was then filled with Marquez's fight in second place against the Ducati duo who flanked him in the top three.
There was an exciting maneuver when Lorenzo successfully overtook Marquez and Dovizioso at once, but then Dovizioso was able to keep his distance. Lorenzo continued to try to attack Dovizioso in the remaining two laps.
Marquez also tried to catch up with Lorenzo on the final lap and successfully did it, but not long after Lorenzo got it back. Dovizioso succeeded in becoming the fastest rider to cross the finish line, followed by Lorenzo and Marquez in the top three.
The next MotoGP series is the Austrian MotoGP which takes place at Red Bull Ring on 12 August.
