From 2016, the Red Bull Ring Circuit became the arena of competition for the Austrian MotoGP series - which was absent from the 1997-2015 period. Previously this race series was also held on two circuits, Salzburgring and A1-Ring (the old name of Red Bull Ring).
In the Austrian MotoGP race in Red Bull Ring last two seasons, Ducati riders have never been absent from the top podium. While on the circuit when it was still named A1-Ring (1996 and 1997), there were two Honda riders who won the primary class.
While during the 500cc era, it was still the primary class, before it was replaced by the MotoGP era, the Salzburgring circuit held a grand prix race in the period 1971-1994.
