MotoGP racing legend Giacomo Agostini doubts the chances of Valentino Rossi winning his 10th title in this season's MotoGP event. This is related to calculating the acquisition of points with the standings leader Marc Marquez.
Rossi hasn't won a world title since 2009. The curiosity of the Movistar Yamaha team rider to fulfill the 10th title has not stopped.
I was so curious, Rossi until renewing his contract with the Tuning Fork team until 2020. But so far this effort has not produced results.
Of the 12 races in this season, Rossi has not been able to win the race. As a result, he finished second with 59 points from Marquez.
"Rossi is still competitive. A great mentor and still very motivated. But honestly, it will be difficult for him to beat Marquez and win his tenth title," said Agostini quoted from Tuttomotori, Monday (3/9/2018).
Chance 2019
Although pessimistic, Agostini still hopes Rossi can win the 10th MotoGP title in 2019. This is of course on condition that Yamaha must be competitive.
"Maybe Yamaha will make a big leap forward in the 2019 season and Honda will fall. Nobody knows what the future will look like, but if nothing extraordinary happens, I doubt something will change," Agostini said.
Honda itself will be strengthened by Jorge Lorenzo starting in 2019. This makes Honda's internal competition itself will be fierce. Lorenzo and Marquez will fight to be the first.
