FIM Safety Chief for MotoGP Franco Uncini spoke about the cancellation of the 2018 British MotoGP a few days ago.

According to him, the International Motorcycle Racing Federation (FIM) did not conduct testing at Silverstone under wet track conditions.

In fact, the FIM is obliged to test the feasibility of each track used for the MotoGP battle arena.

"We did not check the track in wet conditions. We only checked when it was dry and assumed that when wet it should be fine with the correct drainage and slope level on the track," Uncini said as quoted by Crash.net on Monday (8/27) / 2018).

Furthermore, Uncini explained that it was too trustworthy to work on asphalt resurfacing because there had never been a problem before.

In addition, there is also no system that can be used to check the condition of the track when wet.

"We only believe that the company is paving and on the circuit. We check the track to make sure it is not bumpy, not slippery and there is no gap between the curbs. We do not check the wet conditions because there is no system to check," Uncini said.

With this opinion, FIM finally remained "confident" of holding the British MotoGP until a big problem occurred ahead of the qualifying round.

Three riders fell due to a puddle, even Tito Rabat became the most fatal victim due to the poor drainage system on the track.

The Real Avianti rider fell and was beaten by Franco Mobidelli's RC213V who was also trained in the same location.

As a result, Rabat suffered several bone fractures in the legs and was rushed to hospital using a helicopter.
