Valentino Rossi admitted that it didn't matter if someday his grand prix world champion record would be surpassed by his current rival in MotoGP, Marc Marquez. This was revealed by Valentino Rossi when answering fan questions in the inauguration of a new store Dainese (manufacturer of apparels and racing equipment) in London, England.
Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) itself needs just one more victory to ensure that he becomes the world champion of 2018 MotoGP rider.
The title will be Marquez's seventh collection during a career in the world of grand prix motorbike racing (MotoGP 5 times, Moto2 and Moto3 each once). Thus, Marc Marquez has a great opportunity to pass the achievement of Valentino Rossi, who has won the world nine times (7 times MotoGP / 500cc, 250cc once, and 125cc once).
Rossi himself fully understands Marquez's potential, especially The Baby Alien is still in the golden age of 25 years, Even so, Valentino Rossi said he did not feel the slightest worry if Marc Marquez finally exceeded his record.
"I think Marquez can definitely beat my record. But there is nothing to worry about," said Valentino Rossi. "I just have to look at my own career and it's already amazing. I've won a lot of races and can still add more," said The Doctor.
The only regret felt by Valentino Rossi was to "surrender" the 2006 MotoGP world title to Nicky Hayden after making a mistake at the final race, Valencia GP. Meanwhile, the rider with the world record for motorcycle racing is the most held by Giacomo Agostini. Agostini was recorded as a world champion 15 times with details of 8 times 500cc class and 7 times 350cc class.
