Good to everyone in the community, on this day I bring you an article referring to the most important changes in the rules of the Nascar Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series for the upcoming season 2019.
Among the most important changes are:
- elimination of restrictor plates.
As we all know, Nascar is the most important category in terms of North American motorsport, which is why the governing body of the series always look for ways to innovate in the regulation to improve the show, that is why they decided to eliminate the restrictor plates, which was used from Daytona and Talladega Superspeedways in 1987, to avoid the great speeds that were given in those shows of tracks due to its dimensions that are 2.5 miles in regards to daytona and a little more in talladega. However, in the place of restrictor plates will be used in tapered spacer, which is a smaller plate than the previous one but fulfills the same function that is to reduce the powers of the cars.
The power in the MENCS cars in 2018 was 750, but with the use of the tapered spacer this will be reduced by only 550 horses. Also note that in other circuits will be used in other circuits wider to generate more aerodynamic support to find greater overtaking in the race and a car can go one behind the other.
Note that for the Daytona 500 that will take place in February will continue to use the plate, the use of tapered spacer will be given for the two races at Talladega and the second date at Daytona.
2. Aerodynamic changes.
Within the aerodynamic changes we find a higher rear spoiler, to generate a greater aerodynamic load and thus improve the air flow in cars.
- In 2018 the Rear spoiler had measures of 2.375''x 61 whereas for this 2019 it will be of 8''x61.
- In 2019 the cars will have a longer front splitter which will have a dimension of 2 '' overhang.
all these changes, are for the purpose of reducing the air resistance of the car, so a car can go one after the other with the fanality that there are more overtaking in the races and to be able to improve the show.
3. Other changes
among other important changes for this upcoming season 2019 of MENCS is the reduction in terms of the tests carried out during the season, whether private teams and testing of the official supplier of the series as Goodyear is.Menar that in the Information given by NASCAR did not specify how much those tests would decrease.
