I am so excited for tomorrows race at Talladega Superspeedway. Talladega is my favorite track to watch. The track is over 2 1/2 miles of pure adrenaline. Even if you're not a NASCAR fan you probably have heared of this track. Also if you haven't seen the movie "Talladega Nights" you need to. Right now. Finish reading this and then go watch the movie. It's hilarious.

The main reason I like Talladega is for the wrecks. Call me crazy or a bad person but I'm not sorry. You have to admit that seeing race cars wreck while going 200 mph is pretty entertaining. Another reason I like Dega is because they use restrictor plates. Basically a restrictor plate is an aluminum plate with four holes in it located between the carburetor and the intake manifold. It reduces the airflow therefore making the cars go slower. Now usually we want the cars to go as fast as they can but because Talladega is such a large track they use them to keep the cars closer together. If they didn't use restrictor plates the race would be more like Charlotte Motor speedway where the cars get separated and the leader gets a 3 or 4 second lead on the second place car. That's boring. There's not much competition with that. You're basically watching 40 cars run qualifying laps all at the same time. No thanks...

When it comes to predicting who will win at Talladega its really a wild card. Some drivers are able to handle their cars better with restrictor plates or just know how to handle the track itself better than other drivers. But it doesn't matter how good of a driver you are or what your track record is at Dega because there will always be "The Big One", a big wreck that takes out half the field. Sometimes there are several big ones. Really it's a game of chance at Talladega and that's what makes it interesting.

I want to post the results for qualifying but I don't know it the plagiarism tool will pick that up so I'm just going to leave a link to it right here. My top 5 picks to win are Chase Elliott Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Kurt Busch, and Aric Almirola.

I encourage y'all to watch the race this week. It's going to be full of action between the drivers racing hard for the playoffs and "The Big One." The race airs on NBC at 2 pm ET Sunday October 14th. You can also watch the different in-car cameras on nascar.com

Leave a comment below, I love hearing from y'all!
