On Sunday, November 30th, 1952, the 1952 NASCAR Cup Series season concluded with Tim Flock defeating Herb Thomas by 106 points to win the fourth championship in Cup Series history. It was the first Cup Series championship for Flock. These are the top five points finishers for the season.

5. #120 Dick Rathman (-2906)

Rathman claimed fifth in points with five victories, 14 top-fives and 14 top-10s, getting an average finish of 12.7 as well as leading the most laps in three races.

4. #14 Fonty Flock (-1675)

Flock took fourth as he earned a pair of victories to go along with 14 top-fives and 17 top-10s for an average finish of 10.0. He also led the most laps in three races during the season.

3. #42 Lee Petty (-360)

Petty earned the third spot as he got three wins, 21 top-fives and 27 top-10s, getting an average finish of 6.6 and leading the most laps in one race.

2. #92 Herb Thomas (-106)

Thomas got the second spot as he scored eight wins, 19 top-fives and 22 top-10s for an average finish of 8.3 on the season. Thomas led the most laps in six races that season.

1. #91 Tim Flock

Flock scored the championship on the strength of eight victories, 22 top-fives and 25 top-10s for an average finish of 7.6, as well as leading the most laps in eight races.
