With the roller coaster of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series regular season now in the books, it's time to go over my predictions from before the season started and see how accurate they were.
My accuracy on race winner picks dropped slightly from last year, as out of the 26 races, only one prediction was correct. However, I inexplicably managed to pick the winner of the eighth race of the season for the third consecutive time that I've done the preseason predictions, as William Byron did, in fact, win the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway, making this the second year in a row that I correctly guessed a race won by Byron. So I suppose, keep an eye out for who I have picked to win the April Darlington race next year!
For the standings, though, my accuracy improved from last year, as I guessed 12 of the 16 drivers correctly compared to just 10 in 2023. Only Ross Chastain, Kyle Busch, Chris Buescher and Daniel Hemric are not on the playoff roster from the initial article, while Brad Keselowski, Daniel Suarez, Ty Gibbs and Harrison Burton found their way in instead.
Postseason bracket coming soon!
