As of the 2021 racing season, there have been a total of 62 drivers in the Cup Series with their hometown listed in Indiana. So far, drivers representing the Hoosier State have taken a total of 175 wins, 742 top-fives and 1,283 top-10s in 3,304 starts.
Today, Indiana is represented in the Cup Series by Ryan Newman (2000 debut), Justin Haley (2019 debut), and Chase Briscoe (2021 debut).
5. Charlie Glotzbach (Active 1960-92)
Glotzbach scored four wins, 38 top-fives and 50 top-10s in 124 starts, getting a best points finish of 19th in 1968.
4. Darel Dieringer (Active 1957-75)
Dieringer earned seven wins, 45 top-fives and 79 top-10s in 181 starts, with his best points finish of third coming in 1965.
3. Ryan Newman (Active 2000-pres.)
Newman has picked up 18 victories, 115 top-fives and 263 top-10s in 689 starts to this point, taking his best points finish of second in 2014 along with a Daytona 500 victory in 2008.
2. Tony Stewart (Active 1999-2016)
Stewart claimed 49 wins, 187 top-fives and 308 top-10s in 618 Cup Series starts, winning the 2002, 2005 and 2011 championships along the way. In 2020, Stewart was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
1. Jeff Gordon (Active 1992-2016)
Gordon earned 93 victories, 325 top-fives and 477 top-10s in 805 starts, winning the championship in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001 along with Daytona 500 victories in 1997, 1999 and 2005. Gordon was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2019.
