The “greatest of all time” debate is often an empty one, but that doesn’t stop fans, studio analysts and even former players from having it.

In a video posted by UNGUARDED, Hall of Famer Allen Iverson spoke candidly about the GOAT debate and said a former Lakers guard he had his share of battles with isn’t mentioned in the debate enough.

“What bother me is when they do talk about [the greatest of all time], Lebron is great first of all ... when they talk about comparing him to Mike, I don’t understand how they don’t have the debate with him in Kobe,” Iverson said. “You forgot? They forgot?

“I really think they forgot. The Mamba, man ... certified serial killer, man.”

If there’s anyone that knows Kobe Bryant well, it’s Iverson. The Mamba and The Answer met on 38 different occasions, including nine playoffs games where Bryant came out on top 8-1. Bryant also narrowly edged out Iverson in their regular season matchups 16-13.

Combined, Bryant and Iverson have 29 All-Star appearances, six scoring titles, two Most Valuable Player awards and five championship rings.

Whether or not Bryant belongs in the conversation for “greatest of all time” is subjective, but having the endorsement of one the greatest guards to ever play the game in Iverson certainly helps the debate, as does having the endorsement of Michael Jordan himself.
