I really like sports but I have a special relationship with basketball since I was a teenager and my love for the sport began to flow when I was in high school specifically in my early years, as I always attended high school selection practices to get a spot on the team, even skipping a few math classes to be able to attend.

Along with my basketball practice I was also beginning to nurture my love of the NBA which is the ultimate mecca where all of us who played the sport in our early years want to go, and there was the figure of Michael Jordan as a leading example to follow, then came Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing and Karl Malone were the players I liked to see playing in those years and those who know this sport will understand why.

Today I don't practice as much as I used to because I've had to devote more time to my work projects, but my love for this great discipline is still intact and every day when the NBA season starts I don't miss any game on the nights of basketball where I enjoy the best teams in the league and where I bet on the best option.

The national team of my country has also obtained important achievements and feats through this great sport, it is worth mentioning that in 2015 Venezuela was champion of FIBA Americas, taking out of the race a Canada full of NBA players, it is necessary to remember that the only NBA referent in Venezuela, Greivis Vasquez, could not make the team the product of a lamentable injury, so Venezuela with players from their local league and some players who make a living in South American basketball got that great achievement that gave them a place in the Rio 2016 Olympics, and in the final, Venezuela beat one of the best teams in Argentina.

The passion and love that we feel in my country for basketball is incredible, especially on a personal level, every game, every moment I experience them with absolute intensity, I really believe that basketball is the best sport in the world, it is a special feeling that exists towards that discipline, I have seen how it has changed many lives and moments in history.

I think James Naismith didn't know how big and important basketball was going to be when he had the great idea in Massachusetts to use fruit baskets to invent the best sport in the world because it was an alternative to a new game that could be played inside the gym, because in the winter it was very complicated to play sports, everything was very cold outside. This request also came up because there was a group of very disruptive or troubled kids and it was important to give them a distraction.

It's incredible all the universal popularity basketball enjoys today, and how it has evolved, being one of the most passionate and motivated sports played around the planet, I really think basketball is the best sport in the world.
