Main story this summer in NBA Free Agency was where will land LeBron James. When we found out it was Lakers, Warriors reacted the very next day with signing DeMarcus Cousins to their championship roster.

Of course, there is no doubt that even without him, Warriors are the main candidate for NBA title next season. With him, even bigger? Maybe that’s the right question. We read all these days articles how will Cousins fit in.

Let’s summarize it. Cousins is great player, one of the top big guys in the league, there is no doubt there. But again, in 6 full seasons in Sacramento he never made it to the playoffs with them (in seventh he was traded, but that year they were not close to the playoffs). With him on roster, Pelicans this season went 27-21 (56.2%), without him 21-13 (61.2%).

Ok, basketball is a team game, he didn’t have so much good roster around him in those years in Sacramento but again, a less quality lead players with similar or sometimes even less quality roster made it to the playoffs.

Warriors didn’t do anything that was against NBA rules. To be pissed at them why did they do it, well, champions need to be better every year because every year there would be more wish for all the other teams to overthrow them from the throne. But the more quality basketball team does not always mean the better team. What role would Cousins have in Warriors and would he be satisfied with it. He can say now I am good with it but until the ball starts rolling and the games are passing, then we will see. Of course, NBA ring will make everything good but it the things don’t go in the right way, how will he react?

I think more than exciting NBA seasons awaits us and to be honest, I don’t think that Warriors will have easy walkthrough with Lakers, Rockets, Celtics and the others who will have even bigger motives next season.

What do you think?
