To even write about MJ and Lebron and compare 2 of my most favorite players of all time, I would have to forget that I am a fan of both. I think I have already posted that Lebron never was and is not Michael Jordan many times but I also said, no, NOT YET. I can't even say he's already without a doubt greater than Kobe, my other favorite of all time but he sure will past up Mamba. It is at least still debatable. Now let's get to the tricky part and below are the stats and accomplishments of Michael Jordan and Lebron James.

MICHAEL JORDAN:

- 5-time MVP

- 6-time finals MVP

- 6 rings

- 10 scoring titles

- Defensive Player of the Year

- 3rd all time in steals

- 4th all time in scoring

- number one in scoring average with 30.1

vs

LEBRON JAMES

- 4-time MVP

- 3-time finals MVP

- 3 RINGS

- 1 SCORING title

Looking at the stats, Michael is simply so far ahead. Michael was elite ever since day one, Lebron was just another good rookie. MJ beat lebron's rookie stats by a mile, that includes rebounding which he's supposed to dominate. Let's look at both players' career stats. Rebounding is one department any good forward should do more against any good guard but in this case of comparison, Lebron is only a rebound better. I give Michael the edge on rebounding department, for a guard to grab 6.2 boards, that's ridiculously awesome. How about steals? Michael in his career has had 2.3 steals per game while Lebron only has 1.6, a lot of catching up. Assists, a lot of people say Lebron is so complete, he must have been outdishing his airness SO MUCH? Well Lebron is only almost 2 assists better than Mike, i thought Michael was a very selfish player? How was he dishing out 5.3 assists then? This is considering Michael played with the triangle while Lebron dictated just about everything in his team's offense. Wait do youngbloodz even know MJ once had a string of triple doubles? 10 in 11 games and averaged 32-8-8 in that season. Don't forget that experiment only started close to the playoffs. Would you be surprised that Michael is actually a better shot blocker considering Lebron's size? Fieldgoal percentage, Mike was easily over 50% had he not comeback and play for the wizards so he settles at .497 shooting while Lebron is at .504 but would eventually go down due to age so. Not bad for a forward who never played with a great rebounder like Dennis Rodman.

at 33 with 2 or maybe 3 more dominant years, to even catch up with Michael, mah boy James would have to win 1 more MVP which is very doable. He has to win 3 more rings. The 4 more rings would depend on how healthy cavs stay, what stars they get or where he heads next. Finals MVPs of course can only be won if he wins a ring unless he's Jerry West. Can Lebron beat Michael's 32,292 scoring record? He now has 31,038 so he's up there. Would he ever average 30.1? NO. Would he ever be 6-0 in the finals? Of course not, he has already lost 6 times. Would he surpass Michael in steals? NO. Blocks? He still has a huge chance in rackin up more swats than Mike. Right now they have the same average and MJ is 6'6,, a guard.. Winning 9 more scoring titles is like wishing Angelina Jolie can bring back that pair she lost. DPOY? HELL NO. Would he beat MJ's level of competition? A resounding NO, MJ went up against guys inside 50 greatest players of all time and sure fire hall of famers. MJ also went against 20 plus teams that won 50 or more games. People would not forget he left Cleveland while Michael had to make Scottie a better player and deal with the rest. Now he might be switching teams again. Mike had to deal with Orlando Woodridge as the second best player until the arrival of Pip and Grant whom they SIGNED not TRADED. Add the fact that NBA today is just so soft and Lebron had a much easier path to the finals compared to Mike who had to deal with the Sixers, New York, Detroit, Boston and all those great teams. It wasn't like the Wizards of today or the Sixers or the Pacers or the Raptors who would all be smashed by any teams in the 80s and 90s I mentioned. Then there's the lack of quality big men. Handcheck not allowed. Traveling is almost legal. Referees decide games. Players could just go "hey come over my city bruh and let's form a superteam",, It's just so hard to imagine Mike goin to LA or Boston or Detroit.. Like he said, he wanted to compete with those guys. He wanted to beat 'em.. Lebron is one of my favorite players of all time and this aint a knock on his resume. Not many can be compared to MJ. What he lacked in taking over games in crunch time is a huge factor why MJ is above everyone. He has had 2 great finals performances though but MJ was clutch since day 1. In all fairness though, Lebron knew how to get his teammates involved. Wait is that true or a myth? Then why is it that Kevin Love, Chris Bosh, Isiah Thomas, Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, Shaquille O'Neal etc all had worse scoring and season playing with him? Michael had to learn.. And when he did learn and accepted Phil's system, he had turned Scottie to an all time great. That was all he needed, accept Phil's system and have one all star who could share some load and there was no stopping him. Lebron in Miami had all stars in Wade, Bosh, Allen and Lewis while he had Irving, Love, Thomas, Wade, Shaq, Jamison, and Williams in Cleveland. All those players are franchise players.

Do we really wanna talk about playoff performances? Mike is the best scorer in the playoffs averaging 33 to Lebron's 28. Lebron James and Michael Jordan worst playoffs

MJ

22 points vs Knicks in 93

22 points vs Sonics in 96

23 points vs Heat in 97

LBJ

7 points vs Pacers in 2014

8 points vs Mavs in 2011

11 points vs Celtics in 2017

Mike also never got limited to 14 points in any game in the Finals like what Bruce Bowen did to King in 2007. Wait maybe because it was King's first Finals right? Well what about his 8-point game vs Dallas in 2011? Yeah that wasn't a typo, Lebron was held to 8 points. We're talking about a guy Nick Wright thinks is better than Mike. Do you want to know MJ's worst scoring average in a Finals series? 27 points vs the greatest defensive guard of all time Gary Payton. Then people might say well Lebron averaged triple double in the Finals. Nice but did they win that series? But King had back to back 40 point games! That's really cute but MJ averaged 41 in the Finals. MJ was also a leader. You will not see him give up in a game that can still be won much like how Lebron gave up many times. Remember Game 1 of this year's Finals? MJ would have died trying to score in OT. We can go on and on but the gap is quite wide.
