Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett are two of the best draft pick in the 2019 NBA draft. Zion Williamson, the first overall pick and RJ Barrett, the third overall pick were teammates in college at Duke University. They dominated college basketball and become Duke legends. But coming into the NBA, they have now different paths with different teams. Barrett was drafted by the New York Knicks while Williamson was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans. But, the two remain close friends.
And when Williamson was asked about his thoughts on the Knicks drafting RJ Barrett, he responded.
Knicks fans should be relieved that they got Barrett after failing to get the first overall pick. Barrett is also a terrific overall player and has a very high ceiling. And after several years of failures and disappointment, Barrett can possibly end those losing years when he reaches his full potential.
The Knicks has a decent lineup for the next season even though they failed to land a top tier free agent. Let’s see how far can RJ Barret takes this Knicks team.
