The New York Knicks are one of the most disappointing teams during this NBA draft. They failed to land the top tier superstar free agents and ended up signing mid-level free agents. From a goal of landing Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving or even Kawhi Leonard to only ending up to signing Julius Randle and Bobby Portis, the Knicks really let the fans down. They also failed to win the draft lottery and ended up drafting RJ Barrett instead of Zion Williamson.
Now, they will have to focus on developing the young guys. They still have a bright future with their young core of Kevin Knox, Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle, Dennis Smith Jr., and RJ Barret.
But, according to Ian Begley, the Knicks really had a huge chance in the Anthony Davis sweepstake. The Knicks are very high on Mitchell Robinson and they didn't want to include him in any trade package when the Knicks are negotiating a trade for AD.
If the Knicks decided to include Robinson in a deal for Davis, the Knicks could've had a better chance in landing the superstar forward. Now, Davis is headed to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Knicks remains as a rebuilding team who are getting ready for their future.
