The first overall pick from the 2012 NBA draft Anthony Davis has been playing for the New Orleans Pelicans throughout his career but still the Pelicans cannot surround him the right pieces to contend for a championship.

So far the Pelicans only played in 3 playoffs series. Against the Golden State Warriors and last season they manage to win the series against the Portland Trail Blazers, 4-0 in the first round. Anthony Davis had an impressive series against the Blazers averaging 33 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

Davis is just 26 years old and wasn't even in his prime but he is playing at an MVP level. The most important thing for Davis is winning and becoming the best player but the Pelicans couldn't help him win. So the best way to do for him to win is to join a contending team and get out of New Orleans.

According to Get More Sports, Anthony Davis has 4 teams in his mind if the Pelicans still fails. These teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks. Boston has been rumored to be his primary destination because the Celtics are the only team who can offer the Pelicans a decent trade package in exchange for Anthony Davis.

Davis is still under contract with the Pelicans for two more years and a player option for the 2020-2021 season. The Lakers are also a front runner in acquiring Davis. A duo of LeBron and AD should be enough to compete against the Golden State Warriors.
