The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Sacramento Kings, 149-129 on Friday night. They are now 2-0 to start the season and they are looking great even without their superstar DeMarcus Cousins. Anthony Davis is the face of the Pelicans' franchise but man, look at the support he is having now. His boys are all locked and loaded every night giving him some breathing time and pulling out some load from him in scoring.

Nikola Mirotic is having a great start this season. After getting 30 points in his first game against the Houston Rockets, he erupted in his game against the Kings and finished with 36 big points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. He's been consistent shooting his threes. He made 5 three pointers against the Kings shooting 66.7 percent from the field. Charles Barkley and Paul Pierce are talking about him in a post game recap and telling everybody that there's no way Mirotic can have another performance like that after the Rockets game but look what he did against Sacramento. If he continue playing like this, the Pelicans can go up in the Western Conference and become a problem for the the Warriors.

Anthony Davis continues to perform in an MVP caliber level. Davis was tremendous in offense and defense. He finished the game with 25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. He also shot 66.7 percent from the field. Davis is not settling for his outside shots, he just go near the rim and make a higher percentage shot. And that's a great sign for the Pelicans. Davis is playing in his comfort zone and not forcing any shots.

Julius Randle is a great addition for this Pelicans team. He always provided huge numbers and he's been a rebounding machine. Randle finished the game with 13 points and 14 rebounds in 24 minutes of playing time. He shot 50 percent from the field including 1 triple. I think Randle is working in his outside shots and he's had a great stroke and his shots can still be develop. That would be a nice weapon to use especially in the playoffs. Jrue Holiday added a double-double of 15 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 3 steals.

The Sacramento Kings will not be in relevance this season for sure. They are considered as one of the top teams with the worst line up and starting 5 this season. They should still be in tanking mode now and just try to develop their young guys. Buddy Hield is looking pretty good. He's a reliable shooter now and getting better from his first season. Also DeAaron Fox is looking to be a force in the future as well as Marvin Bagley III. This team has a lot of potential but it will take years for them to get into relevance again.

Let's see how the Pelicans can last to perform with a kind of superb performance like this. See you again next time. Have a great day basketball fans!
