There are many what ifs in the History of the NBA. And many big names are involve. There are what if the trades didn't happen or did happen, there are what if the player doesn't get injured, there are so many things you wished that happen and there are things that you wished didn't happen. But now I am going to discuss a shocking trade that almost became a reality and could've change the history of the entire league.

Back in 1984, the Houston Rockets has a chance to trade for the second overall pick and Clyde Drexler. The Rockets could offer their big man Ralph Sampson, and who couldn't resist the talent of Ralph Sampson after his rookie year. He is a center who is a great post scorer, has a mid-range shot and can shoot fadeaways. Sampson is also good defensively and is a fine rim protector because of his height and his length.

If the Rockets push for that trade, they could've resulted to a big three of Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan and Clyde Drexler. That will be an unimaginable trio that will surely dominate the league and change the history of the NBA. That will also surely be the best Big three in the history of the league. Nothing can match that. Not even the trio of LeBron, Wade and Bosh.

The deal was a draft trade offer that would have sent Drexler to the Rockets and the number two overall pick in exchange for Ralph Sampson. The Rockets could've selected Michael Jordan with the number two pick if the deal was done. Olajuwon claims that all of this could've happen. Who could've compete with this trio? If this happened, they may have won more than 6 championship rings together and be the dynasty that no other team can match.

This trade could've also change the legend of Michael Jordan. When we look back at history, we can see that from 1991 to 1998, either Jordan and Olajuwon are included in the team that won the championship in that period. And another fact is that Jordan, Olajuwon and Drexler are part of every NBA Finals from 1990 to 1998. Wow! Imagine if the three combined? just how many championships can they win? It's very unimaginable and it's like a dream that is too good to be true.

In the 1993-1994 season, Olajuwon and the Rockets won the championship against Ewing and the Knicks and they finished the regular season with a 58-24 record. The Rockets are already a dominant team that time led by arguably the best center in the history of the game. The following year, the Rockets dominated the league again and won the championship with the addition of Clyde Drexler. Imagine how long can their championship run last if they have the greatest player of all-time Michael Jordan.

Jordan won 6 championships with the Chicago Bulls but could've been even better with the Houston Rockets and this Rockets team could've been the best team to ever been built. I couldn't imagine how good they can be with MJ. That team could've even been unbeatable and could've won the best record in the NBA that now team can ever surpass.
