NBA Preseason starts today and basketball fans all over the world is very excited! The season opener features the Boston Celtics VS the Charlotte Hornets and the Philadelphia 76ers VS Melbourne United. And today I will give you some recap of the Celtics and Hornets match.
The Charlotte Hornets has been able to overcome the Boston Celtics' lead and get their first win in the NBA preseason, 104-97 on Friday night. It was a close fight between these two teams in the final period after the Hornets recover from the dominance of the Celtics' deadly lineup. It was an exciting game in the last quarter as the two teams just hitting buckets after buckets and it seems that no one wants to give an edge to their opponent.
Jeremy Lamb led the Hornets in scoring with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assist. All-star point guard Kemba Walker didn't play well finishing with only 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 3 blocks shooting only 30 percent from the field. Veteran guard Tony Parker only recorded 1 rebound and 1 assist in 9 minutes of play in his first game as a member of the Charlotte Hornets. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist finished with an impressive double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds while their rookie Miles Bridges finished the game with 10 points and 8 rebounds including two explosive put-back dunks that electrifies the crown and 2 three-pointers. Cody Zeller also played well scoring 13 points with 7 boards and 3 blocked shots.
Great news for the Boston Celtics as Gordon Hayward looks pretty well and back in action playing 22 minutes recording 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. He did not shot well from the field but he's slowly getting his rhythm now. Let's see if he will gain his old self and still be the player he was back then.
Jaylen Brown led the Boston Celtics with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal while Jayson Tatum finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Kyrie Irving added 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block in just 22 minutes of action. Marcus Morris scored 12 points and Terry Rozier had 11 points.
The Boston Celtics is in a good position now but the recovery of Gordon Hayward is still a question. But still, the Celtics have a bright future with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier.
The Celtics and Hornets will have their second match of the preseason on Sunday night.
