Kevin Durant has been on the headlines these past few days. News are circling around the league about Durant and Draymond Green’s feud. Green reportedly challenge Durant to leave as he called him a b*tch several times and stated that they won without him so he can leave. There are also videos that show Durant saying “This is why I’m out” after the altercation between him and Green. This is a big hint that Durant will leave Golden State next summer and will join another team.

Durant won 2 championships in Golden State and won 2 Finals MVP. But in my opinion, this is still Stephen Curry’s team. Just look at them now. They lost 5 of their last 6 games without Stephen Curry. Curry is the man in Oakland and that will never be replaced. Durant joined the Warriors to win a chip and I think he needed the Warriors more than they need him. It hurts for Durant but it’s a fact. The Warriors truly won without him and he didn’t win in Oklahoma City. Durant can’t lead a team. He just can’t do it. He’s a great scorer but not a great leader who can elevate the game of his team mates. LeBron can do that. Steph can do that. But Durant can’t.

When Durant is in OKC, did he win? He has Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Serge Ibaka there. A formidable team who is capable of winning a championship. But he didn’t. Look at LeBron bringing every team from trash to the NBA Finals. And when he left, those teams are trash again. But when you look at OKC, they’re still a playoffs contender after Durant left. With only Russell Westbrook leading the team he brings them still in the playoffs.

Durant’s coward decision just hurts his career a lot. His reputation has been damaged because of that weak decision. Other people even think that Derrick Rose’s career high is more appreciated than Durant’s 2 championships. It doesn’t make sense. He won the championship by joining a 73-win team. And now, the Warriors are going through a lot and he may be finding himself out of Golden State.

Sources even says that Durant is sure to leave the Warriors next summer and he has been linked to an unexpected team, the Los Angeles Lakers. I said it’s unexpected because his Rival, LeBron James is in L.A. and he might not want to play alongside his biggest rival in the league. He gave another hint in an interview that he will focus on the money he will get next summer. He said there are guys that are paid a lot of money and he deserves that too. So, I think he will go for the max and Golden State are not capable of giving Durant the max. The Lakers can.

So, what do you think? Are we gonna see a LeBron-Durant duo next season? It’s very early to say but let’s just now wait and enjoy the on-going season.
