LeBron James and Ben Simmons almost team up in Philadelphia before LeBron James decided to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. During the off-season, James has become the main topic of the basketball world because he's a free agent and the whole world is waiting for his decision and where will he sign. James main options are the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Before LeBron sign a max deal of 4 years with the Lakers, he strongly consider signing with the Philadelphia 76ers and team up with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Imagine if LeBron sign with the Sixers, he and Ben Simmons can dominate the Eastern Conference and compete for a championship against the Golden State Warriors. LeBron will have a better chance on winning the championship with the Sixers but then he decided to join the young Lakers team.
Simmons and James have similar style of play. Simmons at his young age play a lot similar with LeBron James and he can already compete with the NBA's best players. He plays like a veteran and have no fear. He keeps his composure every night and play intelligently. I think the reason why Simmons is so good is his passion for the game and his goal to be the best player in the NBA.
James can mentor Simmons well becasue they have the same play style. He can easily taught him everything he knows and Ben Simmons will surely adapt to LeBron's teachings easily. Simmons only needs to improve his shooting and he will be a very dominant player who has the potential to be the next LeBron James.
Now I am going to share with you a footage where LeBron and Ben played a pick-up game on the same team and this may be a preview of their team-up in Philadelphia that never was.
This was so good to watch as LeBron and Simmons looks unstoppable on the same team. What if LeBron signed with the Sixers? How good can these duo be? And how good can their Big Three with Joel Embiid be? This will be one of the biggest what ifs in NBA history.
