What’s up basketball fans! And Hello scorum fans! I’m here @dwin0603 to give you some of my insights about the NBA. Now, let’s talk about a debate about who’s a better player, LeBron James or Kevin Durant? I will only give some of my ideas about this debate based on the situation as of now in the league but still the question will be answered. So, let’s start!
I will begin with the current situation of the Golden State Warriors. Steph Curry is in vacation and the Warriors is a messed. He’s not literally in a vacation enjoying the white beaches but he’s recovering from an injury and the Warriors are struggling without him. That is one answer to the question of who is a better player between James and Durant. Durant can’t lead the Warriors. That’s it. Very simple.
The Warriors is Stephen Curry’s team. Curry is the one who set the tone. He was the one to give the team and his team mates the pace and the enjoyment. That’s a very important thing in the league. The players should enjoy in the court and should not be stressing while playing. Durant is acting like a child. I think he’s the most sensitive guy in the league. He reacts in every little thing that the media or social media throws at him. He recently yell at a fan while in the court playing that cause him to be fined by the Association.
The Warriors is built around Curry and the team develops itself to put themselves in the position where they are now. I personally feel that the Warriors don’t need Durant. They can still win without him. Draymond Green is right. Durant needs the Warriors more than they need him. This team is all about selflessness, strength in numbers, having fan in the court. But I don’t feel like it when Stephen Curry is not playing with the team.
Now let’s talk about LeBron. In his first 16 games with the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron is 9-7. When he first plays in Miami, he was also 9-7 in his first 16 games. Same thing happens when he came back in Cleveland. And when we talk about that back then in Miami, people are crazy over them because they think LeBron with Wade and Bosh should not be struggling. Same thing goes in Cleveland. But James proved them wrong. He brings Miami and Cleveland all the way to the Finals after a rough start. So, people now are looking at the Lakers like they are in the right direction and LeBron can bring them to the playoffs for sure.
Look at the Lakers’ roster. LeBron is leading this team with no other all-star to help him. People are always saying than LeBron needs another star. LeBron can’t do it alone. LeBron should team up with another star. But man, the Lakers are rollin’ and LeBron is fine. He did it in Cleveland. He’s the man. Remember when LeBron’s second and third best guys in Cleveland is Delonte West and Mo Williams, he still took them to the Finals. They finished winning 60+ games and he won the MVP there. He’s just not ready at that time mentally. He was young but his skills and talent are there. Then, back in 2015 where Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love were injured in the finals and LeBron’s supporting casts are guys like Matthew Dellavedova, they’re still up to 2-1 to start the series. LeBron is in another level that we can’t compare to Durant.
At this point, LeBron James can take the Lakers to the 3rd or 4th seed at the end of the regular season and maybe he can advance to the Conference Semi-Finals or even the Conference Finals without another star to help him. Those young and talented guys together with proven veterans is enough for LeBron James to reached that level. So, in my opinion, LeBron is clearly the better player.
