Markelle Fultz has been a disappointment since he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers as the number 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. In the recent news, Fultz surprisingly expressed his desire to move to a new team and have his fresh start. Fultz has been sensational in his college days that’s why he earned the attention of a lot of NBA scouts and why he was chosen as the 1st overall pick. But his shooting form tends to ruin his young career and it became a serious problem as he cannot shoot and changing his shooting form even makes it worst. He could not overcome the problem physically and mentally and I think that’s the reason why he did not reach the expectations for him.

If the Sixers are going to trade him, I don’t see them getting a nice piece in return. They will not get a trade value of a first overall pick in exchange for Fultz. His value is very low right now and I don’t think many teams will be wanting him. I don’t know if he actually asks for a trade or is it just a statement that hints us that he wanted to be traded but if that’s the case, Philly would still be fine without him and even though they cannot find a great trade for him, the Sixers in my opinion is still good.

If Fultz is going to be traded, there are a few teams in my mind that probably needs him and could also fix his problem and have the fresh start he wanted. These few teams that I will mention are the same team in my last blog about Terry Rozier’s best destinations. I think it’s the same case because those teams badly need a point guard.

San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs is the first team in my mind. As I always mention about the Spurs, they love developing young talents and they are good at it. I don’t know how they do that. Is it some magic words from Coach Greg Popovich or some tough training sessions? I don’t know but let’s leave it that way. They are just so good in that case and there are many examples of that. Bryn Forbes is one. He’s been playing well now for San Antonio and becoming a great three-point shooter. Another is Dejounte Murray. Before the injury, Murray has been their starting point guard after a great showing and stepping up for the Spurs last season. The kid showed some promising potential. I believe they can do all that to Fultz given that he has a lot of potential and we saw him play at a superstar level in college.

Phoenix Suns

It’s just simple. The Suns needs a point guard right now. I think the Suns would be perfect for Markelle Fultz. The Suns are not going to make the playoffs this season that’s for sure in my opinion and this is the best place for Fultz to develop his game. In Philly, his minutes was limited because the Sixers don’t want to waste any time developing players. They want to compete now and they are aiming for a championship. Their mindset is to play guys that are ready and can play with confidence to help them reach the Finals. With the Suns, Fultz can do as much as he wants and he is not under pressure. He can take his time or slowly adapted to the NBA and have a better chance of proving himself.
