What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the latest news and updates for the 2019 NBA Free Agency! Let's start!
As the 2019 NBA Free Agency comes to its climax, there are a lot of surprises that happened this past few days. Not just the signings but also some shocking trades. We saw Kawhi Leonard sign with the Clippers, DeMarcus Cousins to the Lakers and then the Oklahoma City Thunder trading Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers to join Kawhi Leonard. It was a shocking turn of events there and now, Russell Westbrook is requesting a trade from the Thunder!
Now that Westbrook is available, many teams would surely want to pursue the 2017 season MVP. And according to reports, Westbrook might be headed to South Beach as the Miami Heat showing interest in him.
Recently, the Miami Heat acquired Jimmy Butler via sing-and-trade. Now, who wants to see a Jimmy Buckets and Brodie duo? The Miami Heat has been aggressively trying to bring in another superstar and after missing out on Bradley Beal and John Wall, maybe they can try to go for Russell Westbrook who has been unhappy in Oklahoma City.
Miami can offer Goran Dragic and Justice Winslow plus a bunch of future draft picks. And with the current situation of the Thunder as of now, maybe they might be forced to take that trade. Trading Paul George means also including their championship chances. So, it means that Russ would be on a rebuilding team again he wouldn't love that. So the best thing the Thunder can do is to trade him next. Miami would be a dangerous team in the East if they get Westbrook and the Western Conference will have less contender.
That is all for today folks! I would love to hear your thoughts about this article, so drop your comments now and let's have some basketball talk. 😁
