What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the latest news and updates for the 2019 offseason! Let's start!
Klay Thompson will not play most of the 2019-2020 season recovering from his injury, Andre Iguodala is gone and Kevin Durant is also gone. Despite all the losses, the Warriors makes sure that they will not lose another valuable piece. So, the Golden State Warriors and all-star forward Draymond Green agreed to a four-year $100 million contract extension that will keep him until 2024. He is set to become a free agent next summer so the Warriors makes an early move to keep him.
A hundred million dollar is a huge amount of money for a player like Draymond Green who hasn't average huge numbers throughout his career. But, he's so valuable for Golden State and his contributions to winning the championships they won cannot be seen on paper.
But, according to some reports, Draymond Green took a major pay cut signing his $100 million extension. He could've been eligible for a 5-year $203 million max deal or even $150 million if he decided to leave the Warriors and sign with another team.
It just shows how much Green is willing to help the Warriors. He really loves the Golden State Warriors franchise and willing to sacrifice anything for them to be successful. That's a lot of money thrown away but for Green, Warriors is his home.
That is all for today folks! I would love to hear your thoughts about this article, so drop your comments now and let's have some basketball talk. 😁
