What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the latest news and updates for the 2019 offseason! Let's start!
There are a lot of talks that the Golden State Warriors will just use D’Angelo Russell as a trade asset after acquiring him. Everybody believes that D’Lo’s departure from the Warriors is guaranteed and the team will just wait until December when he became eligible to be traded. When you look at the Warriors’ roster, they are loaded with guards and D’Lo would not want to play off the bench behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. Especially after his breakout season becoming an all-star last season.
But, Warriors’ General Manager Bob Meyers made it clear that they will not give up D’Angelo Russell.
But with Thompson sitting out most of the 2019-2020 season, D’Angelo Russell can play the shooting guard position until Klay returns. The Warriors can also test D’Lo and how can he fit with the system. Curry is not getting any younger and Russell is just 23 years old who averaged more than 20 points and 7 assist last season. Curry can past the torch to Russell as he meets father time and past his prime. That’s very early to say but that’s the ideal future for the Warriors if they will not trade Russell.
