What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the latest news and updates for the 2019 offseason! Let's start!
The Lakers are now title contenders after acquiring Anthony Davis and pairing him with LeBron James. But, they still need a third star who can step up when needed. And that man has to be Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma is a talented young star who has a lot of potentials. He recently joined Team USA's campaign for the FIBA World Cup but unfortunately, he injured his ankle and will not be able to continue to play for Team USA.
During his training with Team USA, he continues his progression and learned a lot from one of the greatest coaches of all-time, Coach Greg Popovich. Kuzma is not really a defensive type of player but his fellow young star Donovan Mitchell says that Kuzma has improved a lot defensively.
If that was really true, that would give the Lakers a lot of help. Anthony Davis will surely anchor the defense but he needs help. LeBron has declined defensively and Kuzma can cover that up if he really improved his defense. That would be much needed if the Lakers want to really compete for a championship.
