What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today, we will talk about the situation in Anthony Davis’ trade talks and what is Lonzo Ball’s impact in L.A.’s trade offer.

AD is a top 5 player in the NBA, and for a team to get 2 top 5 players in the NBA in their roster, they should be willing to pay the price and give up enough to get that. The Lakers should be willing to give the Pelicans anything they want except for LeBron James of course. They should start building a team around LeBron and AD (if they get him).

The Lakers wanted to keep KCP because of his 12 million dollars contract that can create enough space to sign another max contract player next summer. That would give them a chance to sign Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson (if the Warriors don’t give him the a max) or Kyrie Irving. There is a lot of chances for the Lakers to create a new super team next season but as of now, they should be giving full effort in acquiring AD. The Pelicans are still in control until AD’s contract expire but according to multiple sources, AD wants to play for the Lakers and if the Pelicans trade him to another team, it will just be a rental for the remainder of the season.

The Lakers are rumored to be preparing for this moment for a long time and we heard a lot of rumors about this these past few seasons and now it’s finally here. Having said that, I think the Lakers are now well-prepared to make a huge offer and I also think that they prepared a lot of options or trade offers that will be difficult for the Pelicans to decline. Magic sure is making a move now because remember that it’s only 9 days left until the NBA trade deadline, a very short time to make a big decision for both franchises. The Lakers was also tired of loosing after the post-Kobe era and this will be the beginning of their fresh start bringing back the winning culture in Los Angeles.

What is Lonzo Ball’s impact in this trade talk?

Zo is the most important asset in this trade because he has the potential to be a great point guard and a great leader in the future. And the most interesting thing here is, the Pelicans view Zo as a leader and a star for the future. So that means that Zo is the key for the Lakers to get AD. The Pelicans expressed their interest for Zo and that can be the key for this trade to happen. We know Zo lacks consistency and he have a big problem in his shooting but this season we saw some improvements from him and we saw some flashes in his game. He really can be a star in the future.

Recently, Ball’s camp said that if he is going to be traded, he prefers a third team in the trade because he wouldn’t want to play in a guard crowded Pelicans and he wants to be a starting point guard with a team who still doesn’t have an established point guard. But in my opinion, he can still be a starting point guard in New Orleans because Jrue Holiday can play the 2-guard position and ball can play the PG position as much as he wants. He can also grow there and reach his full potential. It will be hard for him to accept the fact that he will be leaving L.A. but the sure thing here is, the Lakers will not get AD if Ball is not included in their offer.

That is all for today folks! What’s your take about AD’s situation? Is he going to be traded before the deadline? I would be glad to hear your opinions here so drop your comments now and let’s have some basketball talk! 😊
