What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Let's begin!
If you compare the Eastern Conference from the Western Conference you will see that its more competitive in the West because almost all of the bottom playoff teams there are strong and can compete with the top teams in the East. While the bottom playoff teams in the East are weak teams that in my opinion, those teams don't deserve to be in the playoffs. It is just not well balanced.
Good thing for the East now, LBJ is not there anymore and they don't have to go against him so the chances to win the East are higher. Now, I am going to give you my list of the top teams in the East who can make it to the Finals.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are expected to dominate the league but they struggled all season long because of some team issues. They also didn't do any major move in the trade deadline and they have been loosing to weaker teams. Now that the playoffs is coming they should be ready now because it is their chance now to get to the Finals without facing the King on their way. They had a very good roster and I think they can shake things up in the playoffs. After the all star break they have been doing well and I think they are now back on track and I believe Kyrie will step up big time come playoffs time.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto always chokes in the playoffs after a terrific regular season. They have been always struggling in the playoffs and Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan couldn't carry the team in the postseason. But now that Kawhi Leonard is the one leading them, I don't see any setbacks in the playoffs. I believe he will dominate in the playoffs and play big time to carry Toronto to another level. I think this will change the whole team's approach in the playoffs.
Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing at an MVP level and he might actually win the award. With his dominance, the Milwaukee Bucks are now on top of the Eastern Conference beating the top contenders in the East. I see the fire in Giannis' eyes and I know he wi go for it. He's very hungry and he wanted to win the championship. The team also loaded up big time in the trade deadline getting Nikola Mirotic which can be very useful in their offense. Mirotic can spread the floor and open up driving lanes for Giannis. The same thing goes for Brook Lopez who has been a major threat from the outside. This will be a hell of a team to beat in the playoffs.
Philadelphia 76ers
I think this team has the highest potential to win the East. They have the best roster in my opinion. Look at their starters. Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, and JJ Redick. Then their bench is also pretty fine. But the lack of experience from Simmons and Embiid might hold them back. But the veteran leadership of Butler might shine and help the team in the postseason.
