What's up basketball fans! Let's have some basketball talk once again and out topic for today is about the teams that might make the playoffs next season.

The regular season is almost here and teams are now locked and loaded and ready to compete again in their hopes of winning the Larry O'brien trophy. Some teams are just letting this season just pass away and continue their rebuilding process because they already knew that the Golden State Warriors will surely win the championship while some teams are confident that they have enough tools to beat the Warriors. But today i'll give you my list of the teams that I think can actually make the playoffs surprisingly.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Everybody believe that the Cavs will not be in relevance again because of the LeBron James post era. They are now a weak team without James and they will not make the playoffs with only Kevin Love leading the team. That is what everybody was thinking but in my own opinion, they have a shot at making it to the playoffs. Kevin Love is an all-star and a top tier power forward in the league. Love can turn into the Love that leads the Wolves in Minnesota and a rebounding machine who can score inside and out. Another factor is their rookie Collin Sexton. How high is the ceiling of Collin Sexton? He's a stud in the making and can be compared with John Wall's speed and quickness, and plays like De'Aaron Fox with better shooting abilities. Sexton and Love could be a great combo for the Cavs and have the chance to beat teams like Miami or Detroit who will fight for a playoff spot.

Dallas Mavericks

You maybe thinking this is a bad pick in my list but I believe that Dallas has a slight chance to make it to the playoffs in a very stacked Western Conference. Luka Doncic is a great pick by the Dallas Mavericks and he will be the cornerstone of the Mavs for years. Doncic is still very young but had a lot of experience playing with and against grown men in professional leagues in Europe. Luka is a point forward with great size and shooting. He's an outstanding passer and has high basketball IQ both offensively and defensively. He's just not that athletic but his vertical will do great in the NBA. The backcourt duo of him and Dennis Smith Jr. will totally be scary and the Mavs has a nice core in Harrison Barnes and DeAndre Jordan. This lineup makes a lot of sense. Luka Doncic will surely make an impact to the league so watch out for the Mavs!

Denver Nuggets

Denver recently secured a very talented pick in Michael Porter Jr. Though Porter is still injured, they have secured their future and it might be another Ben Simmons scenario. Even if Porter cannot play this season, the Nuggets still have a stacked roster to finally compete for a playoff spot with a better chance. Last season, they played really well but came up short because of injuries and inconsistencies. They almost make it last year battling it hard against the Minnesota Timberwolves but eventually fell. Now is a start of another hard path for the West as the Lakers will now take one more sure spot and the Nuggets should be ready.

The return of a healthy Paul Milsap will be a great help because he's a veteran who knows how to finish important games and can be a reliable force in the paint together with rising star Nikola Jokic. Nuggets have a great set of back courts. There is Jamal Murray and Garry Harris who were tremendous last season developing their games big time. And there is also Will Barton and Isaiah Thomas who can provide more scoring in their second unit. Their bench is really deep with Trey Lyles there together with good role players. This Nuggets team has improved during the off season and I believe they will make the playoffs this year.
