Recently Terry Rozier expressed his desire to be a starter and play more minutes. He is expressing his feelings publicly and teams are being interested in acquiring the young Celtics guard. He made his mark in the game by stepping up in the playoffs when Kyrie Irving is injured. But now, Kyrie is healthy and it is impossible for Rozier to take his place as the starting point guard for the Celtics. Now, the Celtics should shop him now and try to find a new home for him where he can start and continue in developing his game. Here are some teams that I think he will immediately fit right in.
Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic is surprisingly having a nice start as people thinks that they would be at the bottom of the standings in the Eastern Conference. They are now 9-9 and sitting as the 7th seed in the East. They’re fine now but they have a lot of problem in the point guard position. They’re starting point guard as of now is the aging DJ Augustin and there is Jerian Grant to back him up. Both players are now a true starting point guard caliber and they should now find the right PG to make the team improve. The point guard is one of the most important pieces of a team because they usually set the tone and make plays. They should have enjoying Aaron Gordon’s good years and compete for a playoff spot. And with Terry Rozier as they’re point guard, that would be something. Rozier would give the Magic additional fire power and scorer who is not afraid of the big moments.
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs now is not a great three-point shooting team like they were this past decade. Terry Rozier is a good shooter and will fit right in under Greg Popovich’s system. They’re starting point guard Dejounte Murray is currently injured and Patty Mills is a shooting guard, I think. Bringing Terry Rozier will boost them up and he might have a breakout season under the guidance of one of the best Coaches in NBA history. And we all know that the Spurs are great in developing players so I’m sure that they can bring out the best out of Rozier. The Spurs also is a playoff bound team and the experience Rozier has gotten from the Celtics’ playoff run last season will be very useful for them.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns added a lot of good players in their roster this past off season. They added Ryan Anderson, Trevor Ariza, the no. 1 overall pick DeAndre Ayton and another rookie Mikal Bridges but the Suns still had a disappointing start. I think they’re biggest problem is the point guard position. They’re starting point guard is Isaiah Canaan who just came back from an injury. Devin Booker can’t play point guard. He’s a pure scorer and the Suns should have an elite point guard to pair with Booker. Terry Rozier is the best fit in my opinion. The Suns can use Dragan Bender to get Rozier. Booker will benefit most when the trade happens because he’s a great off-ball scorer and he will have a primary ball-handler in Terry Rozier that knows how to make plays.
