Last week one of my students asked who my favorite team was. Almost automatically, I replied "The Bulls". I was a season ticket holder from 2003 to 2007 and then again from 2010 until 2016. I decided to get out a few weeks before the Bulls foolishly signed Dwyane Wade. I dodged a HUGE bullet. I did not even watch a single game while he was in a Bulls uniform. I despise him.

I know Dwayne. Watching the NBA is hard right now. Image

I get hives every time that douche bag whines for a call after throwing himself to the floor while his teammates have to play 4 on 5 at the other end.

But this isn't abut Dwyane Wade.

After my knee jerk reaction to the kid's question, he followed it up with, "Who is your favorite player?"

I didn't have an answer.

Then I started to think about the team question.

I don't think I have one of those.

I actually hate the Bulls right now. The fact that they almost proudly state that they have no intention to play defense makes them pretty hard to stomach. i get that it is the NBA and nobody plays defense. But you can at least pretend.

Don't get me wrong, I still watch the NBA. But it is no longer fueled by the love of a team or a player. Now I turn on games to root against certain players. And that list of players I hate seems to grow every day.

Jimmy Butler used to be my favorite player. Now I hope he trips on his giant ego and lands on the IR for the season.

Joel Embiid seemed like a pretty funny guy. But in a recent game in which he faced Andre Drummond, he epically flopped, screamed to have Drummond kicked out, succeeded, and then laughed and said "I got him!" as he waved goodbye. It makes me want to jump up, punch him square in the belly button, and then run away as fast as I can.

Drummond didn't even touch him. Image

Kyrie Irving is fun to watch as he finishes at the rim... but he is either insane or the dumbest man alive.

I used to like LeBron James... before he went to Miami and became a cheater who takes the easy way out (flopping = cheating).

The Greek Freak seems pretty cool... but I live in Chicago. Am I really going to root for a team in Wisconsin?

Too bad the Bulls can't attract any free agents. He could be fun to root for. Image

So here's my dilemma. NBA 2k19 was half price on Thursday. It is arriving today. What team am I going to choose for my franchise mode?

Does anybody have any suggestions on a fun team to try?
