Demarcus Cousins or Boogie Cousins when healthy was arguably considered the best center in the league because of his all around game to go along with Shaq-like strength in the post and can hit pretty well from beyond the arc for his position which is the trend right now in the NBA.
Boogie also is a great passer at center position logging career season high of 5.4 assists per game in which he played his last season for the New Orleans Pelicans along with THE BROW Anthony Davis where he also average 25.2 points and 12.9 boards which would be the best season of Boogie Cousins unfortunately cut off the middle of the season through a season ending injury.
Cousins then signed with the Golden State Warriors that spoiled him to take a rest as much as he want to recover from an injury that no one can be back from their primes to name a few like Kobe Bryant. Warriors is favored to win it all even without Boogie but through series of unfortunate events they lost which could only way he can win a ring.
Fast forward, Boogie signed with Lakers in hope in reuniting with his buddy Anthony Davis and with the King Lebron James which has the best odds to win the 2020 championship even without the season starting. Cousins inked a one year deal veteran minimum of 3.5 million dollars just last month.
Cousins hoping again to get a ring with a pretty talented roster instantly turned his season for a potential yet again another season-ending injury without even playing a game this season as he torned his ACL.
It may take six to nine months to return to full activity after surgery to reconstruct an ACL injury. The first three weeks concentrate on gradually increasing knee range of motion in a controlled way. The new ligament needs time to heal and care is taken not to rip the graft.
Now Boogie might be the latest addition to the What IF moments in the history of the NBA, injuries are part of the game but its always saddening to see player of that caliber to go down and not win a championship only because of health concerns. Also what a disappointing career who probably lost his chance on signing a super max deal considering he is better with a lot of players who just signed with lots of money on the table.
