The New Jersey Nets had a chance to draft Kobe Bean Bryant in 1996 NBA draft but couldn't pull the trigger, their coach at that time John Callipari who is a current college coach living legend was fond of Kobe during workouts.
It was reported that all the management like Kobe so much that they had him workout three times and it is said that it was the best workout they have seen in their life, so why they choose Kerry Kittles instead of the Black Mamba?
Nets former assistant GM Bobby Marks reminisce his worst decision or the whole organizations decision because they passed on Kobe who is considered one of the best player to ever put on a basketball shoes in the history of NBA and is universally recognized as a sports icon.
Bobby Marks also said that it still gives him nightmares on the Nets passing on Kobe because although Kerry Kittles is a good player for them at that time but he is no Kobe Bryant. Who would've thought if Kobe ended up being a nets he could have a better overall stats and be greater as a single player and carry the New Jersey as a city.
Others think that if Kobe became a NETS then the team wouldn't need to move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. I mean one decision really have multiple domino effects not only for a single person but for the rest of history.
