LeBron James opened up about his move to the Los Angeles Lakers. For the sake of the Lakers, the player claimed to reject offers from the Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets.
LeBron's contract expired at the end of last season. As predicted earlier, he refused an offer for a contract extension from the Cavs.
At that time a number of news mentions the Lakers in the leading position to recruit LeBron, but apparently the Rockets and Sixers are also interested. The Rockets and Sixers themselves were even just two of the three teams considered by LeBron, from the many offers that came.
The 33-year-old player revealed that making decisions has never been as easy as it seems. After weighing many things, his heart was determined to choose the Lakers.
"I made a thorough assessment of the pros and cons of many different teams, including the Cavs, and also Philadelphia, Houston, and Los Angeles. So it's not as fast as it seems," LeBron told Express.
"It's not just July 9 as usual. So after talking to family, more than anyone, I feel this is the next step in my journey. I certainly think hard and long about the possibility of being side by side with Ben (Simmons) and (Joel) Embiid. "
"Or a set of players with (James) Harden and Chris (Paul), but I want a challenge to help the Lakers back to the top," he added.
