Los Angeles Clippers lost to Toronto Raptors 99:123. This is the biggest defeat of the team this season.
The lack of Kawhi Leonard, a basketball player brought to Toronto as part of the exchange during the break between the seasons, was supposed to be a great weakness in the squad of guests from Canada. It turned out, however, that the lack of Leonard did not prevent the Raptors from winning very high on one of the most difficult areas in the current regular round.
Toronto without his best scorer (26.1 points per game) and the rebounder (8.3 rebounds per match) in one, perfectly found other ways to win. The only Canadian team in the NBA hit 52 percent of the game, had 34 assists and above all had an advantage in quick attacks 28 to 4 over the hosts.
Instead of Kawhi LEonard played Fred VanVleet and he had 14 assists. The center Serge Ibaka scored 25 points and had nine rebounds. Kyle Lowry threw four triples, and the whole team hit the distance 14 times.
After a great start of the season, in the recent games LA Clippers fails - it's their fourth defeat in the last four games. The best scorer of the team, Tobias Harris, only threw 10 points (less than half of his average this season).
The worst moment in the Los Angeles Clippers' team took place in the third quarter, they lost 17:33. Then the dominance of the Raptors was already unique, after the part in which they scored a 10:0 series of points, they scored five more throws for three and led almost 30 points 103:74.
This time Marcin Gortat, who didn't play in the last two games, spent 19 minutes on the court. The Pole scored two of the five throws from the game and three of the four free throws. He completed the seven points with four rebounds, had four assists as well as loss and foul.
Los Angeles Clippers with a balance of 17 wins and 10 defeats occupy the fourth place in the Western Conference and have the same achievements as the more successful club from the same city - LA Lakers. The next game Clippers will play on Thursday night against San Antonio Spurs.
As you can see the NBA season is very unpredictable: Some days you eat the bear, other days the bear eats you (this time it was Raptors :) I hope Clippers will do it better next time and they will advance when it comes to place in the Western Conference.
