The Golden State Warrior got a dose of what they often dish out to other teams when they fell to Dallas Mavericks at home in an NBA regular season fixture on 24th, Sunday night, the Warriors were humiliated 91-126 at the Oracle Arena, Oakland, California. The Warriors worst home loss since they assumed dominance in 2014 and worst since 2007. The Warrior's loss to Mavericks which sit 2nd bottom at the Western Conference log table was also the 4th loss for the Warriors in the month of March, what an upset pulled by the Mavericks.

The Warriors rested their golden boy, Stephen Curry for the game but still boosted of all-stars players such as Kevin Durant, Quinn Cook, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson amongst others. However, it was the bottom of the log team that got off the block blazing with a 1st Quarter dominance and a result of 37-22 with Luka Doncic and evergreen Dirk Nowitzki leading Mavericks' charge. The 2nd Quarter started as much as the 1st Quarter ended, with the Mavericks picking up from where they left it, winning the Quarter by another 37-24, they sure ran the Warriors ragged on their own court. Dallas Mavericks did not take their feet off the gas as they swept past the Warriors in the 3rd Quarters, this time 34-24, Warriors just could not draw inspiration from anywhere to turn the game on its head. With victory in sight, the Dallas Mavericks seems to take their feet off the gas in the 4th and final Quarter with just 18 points, while the Warriors seems to have conceded defeat could only manage 21 points as well, 21-18 the Warriors had the Quarter.

It's hard to pinpoint what went wrong with the Warriors, they were sloppy on the night. Was it as a result of fatigue? or the absence of Stephen Curry? or the state of mind of Kevin Durant and Quinn Cook? who both had lost a friend to murder earlier in the week Durant could only manage 25 points, 9-25 of his Field Goal, just 5 rebounds, and a poor 4 assists. Cook, Green and Thompson all fared worst compared to Mavericks Doncic and Nowitzki who both had 23 points and 21 points respectively, Doncic's 6-14 FG along his triple-double, 11 REB, 10 ASST while Nowitzki had 8-14 FG.

The 35 points margin was the Golden State Warriors' heaviest home defeat since they lost by 37 margins, 126-89 at home to the San Antonio Spurs on March 26, 2007. Since coach Steve Kerr took over in 2014, the Warriors have never been defeated on home court in such humiliating manner, but hey, there is always a 1st time for everything, Isn't it?

NBA fans have often time seen the Golden State Warriors torn teams apart in such ruthlessness, they had this season defeated San Antonio Spurs 141-102, the Indiana Pacers had also lost 100-132 to the Warriors, not to forget Chicago Bulls' 109-146 loss among other whitewashes dished out by the Warriors, I guess it's about time they feel what their adversaries all felt in the wake of humiliating losses. And once again the popular old phrase has been proven to be true,

What goes around, comes around - Paul Crump.

Golden State Warriors still sit top of the Western Conference though after recovering from the defeat and are also the favourite to defend the NBA championship this season, but are definitely showing weakness and cracks in their armour, such that can be exploited by other teams as the playoffs approach.
